Well today was a BIG day for Austin. He FINALLY lost his front tooth after days of eating only applesauce. He has an iron will and would not allow anyone to help him pull it. ("But Mom," he would say, "if I lose it at school the teacher will let me pick from the treasure box and get a sticker.") That was his excuse for days. He was crying from hunger, and so today Mark and I held him down while we finally "pulled" it out. It was hilarious. Mark BARELY touched it and it came out without Austin even knowing. It was seriously HANGING by a thread. Afterwards, Mark said, Okay Austin...you pull it out now. Austin reached up to feel his tooth and it was gone! He thought that was pretty funny. Good job Austin. Only 18 more to go.
This brought back memories! I remember John and I holding Thomas done so that John could get the tooth out.
ReplyDeleteHooray for Austin! Allison did the same thing, and so, NO SURPRISE, she made sure both of her top 2 teeth came out during school. Poor teachers!
ReplyDeleteIt also brings back memories of MY dad holding me down and pulling my baby teeth. (I eventually went to using JU JU BEES....a sticky candy.) I am sure the trauma is the reason for all my subsequent psych problems.
