Austin's loose tooth

Well today was a BIG day for Austin. He FINALLY lost his front tooth after days of eating only applesauce. He has an iron will and would not allow anyone to help him pull it. ("But Mom," he would say, "if I lose it at school the teacher will let me pick from the treasure box and get a sticker.") That was his excuse for days. He was crying from hunger, and so today Mark and I held him down while we finally "pulled" it out. It was hilarious. Mark BARELY touched it and it came out without Austin even knowing. It was seriously HANGING by a thread. Afterwards, Mark said, Okay Austin...you pull it out now. Austin reached up to feel his tooth and it was gone! He thought that was pretty funny. Good job Austin. Only 18 more to go.

Either this is REALLY funny...or I am REALLY tired.

http://www.buyfunslides.com/

I don't need to say anymore except the girl that comes really close to the camera and says "Fun Slides' looks exactly like Annemarie. Also, I want to buy these just to get the DVD with the "Pro and Semi-pro" carpet sliders. Note to Grandparents: You are not allowed to purchase these for ANY birthday/Christmas/Holiday or "just-because". Love to you all....I'm going to bed now.

And the winner is...........CATHERINE!

Thank you Catherine for COMMENTING on my posts. I now recognize how cool it is to hear from people on my blog. Thanks for making my day!!!!!

Everything is big in Texas...including the garbage piles

Okay...so I just HAVE to post about this one. I am continually AMAZED at the amount of garbage that people put out on garbage day. It is NOTHING like Utah where you have a container that you have to put all of your garbage in. No, as long as it is out on the curb...they will take it. Couches, water heaters, dryers, tree stumps...you name it. The garbage truck comes not once but TWICE a week and it is not automated. They have 3 guys hanging on the back of the truck and pick up everything and toss it into the truck. I am so mad that my camera didn't work well, but this picture was of my neighbor's house yesterday. They had PILES and PILES of crap and I watched the poor garbage man lift a HUGE tree stump and throw it into the truck. I guess none of these people have seen the "Green Contract" film we saw in Portland so many years ago with the Craners. (joking) Do any of you remember that????

Princess Ray Ray

We have a person of royalty living with us. She is commonly called "Princess Ray-Ray" by her brothers...and she answers sometimes only to that name. Rachael (her name known to us commoners) is highly fashionable and loves to wear shoes ALL the time (and I am not kidding). It also does not matter whose shoes she is wearing. It is common for kids to come over and take their shoes off at the door. Rachael immediately begins trying them all on and wears them until the poor kid wants his shoes back. These pictures prove it! She is trying on my shoes in one picture, and then in the other, she had her friend Davey over (he is SOO cute) and she insisted on wearing his little shoes while he visited. Also, notice the lovely necklace she is wearing. This one is her favorite and she wears it all of the time. It happens to be from a pirate costume from one of the boys and it has a skull and cross-bones on it. She wears it everywhere and CRIES when I take it off for her to take a nap. She is ALL girl and we love her for it.

Happy 100th day!

Austin got to celebrate his 100th day of school by creating a project made from 100 things. He came up with the idea of glueing 100 "eyeballs" on a t-shirt and making a monster with 100 eyes! BRILLIANT! (however glue gun +little fingers = small skin burns.) He proudly wore it to school and not one eyeball fell off!!! Thanks Austin for being so dang creative, fun and most of all spontaneous. You add so much fun to our family.

That was fun. Now maybe my 2nd post will work.

Well, now that I am a seasoned blogger , my next post should contain words and pictures. That is the goal, so let's strap on our boots and get ready to Partay..Texas style with the Craner Clan. That's right. Texas is when we hang our hats and our flyswatters now. (yes, I forgot about ALL the bugs here. Ewwww!) That's okay, because even though we get to share our existence with MANY bugs, frogs (we found 2 in our bananna tree yesterday) , snakes, and lets not forget the alligators that live in a pond nearby, we are HAPPY and THANKFUL to be here. So let's get to the postin'.

Here are a few pictures from our day trip to Galveston. We decided to go down and see what the town looked like after Hurricane Ike. Catherine (sis in law) and her cutie pie kiddos joined us so we trekked down to take a look. When we got there, we saw LOTS of piles of garbage everywhere, run down buildings and a not so pretty beach. (okay, so maybe that is what the town looked like BEFORE the Hurricane, but it was still sad to see so much devastation). It was fun and the kids LOVED the beach. Here are a few pictures:

Okay, so I clearly need to figure out how to do the pictures correctly. But, at least they made it there!
More later....but first I need to figure out how to add some "cuteness" to my blog. Any suggestions????

Oh my Gosh!!! It's my first post...ever!!!!!
